Video editing involves a number of individual tasks that must be done to obtain the best result. Computers have made it much simpler to perform these tasks, but it still requires skill and artistic vision.
As a director, your job is to make the best movie you can possibly make. Half of this job involves organizing the crew and helping the cast to deliver their best performances, and the other half of the job takes place on what used to be called “the cutting room floor”, but these days is simply called “post” (short for post-production).
